One of the first tasks for us at Sims and Jones Funeral Directors, Swansea, when founding our business, was to become members of The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors. Joining a trade association was very important to us, as the funeral profession is mainly unregulated. Becoming members means that SAIF regulate us, and inspect our services, administration and our premises to ensure that our clients are receiving the best possible services during their time of need.
Here is an insight in SAIF and what they offer to you the client. The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF) is a trade association whose members are all independent funeral directors. The funeral service they offer is not part of a national or international conglomerate or chain, but is privately owned and managed. In fact, a large proportion of our members’ funeral homes have been run by the same family for generations.
Independent funeral directors are known for their high standard of service and a caring, traditional approach to their local communities, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. By choosing a SAIF member when the need arises, you are assured of a trusted and caring professional who is dedicated to serving the needs of the community. We have 860 funeral companies in membership, totalling almost 1,500 sites. An additional 100 companies are Associate Members, who supply products or services to the funeral profession.
